Founded in Geneva as Patek, Czapek & Cie; the Plan-les-Ouates manufacture has kept the brand inside the Geneva watchmaking enclave for the better part of two centuries.
Founded 1839 in Geneva. The most-consistently-prestige of the holy trinity (Patek / AP / Vacheron), Patek has produced perpetual calendars, minute repeaters, and grand-complication watches at the highest tier of the catalog continuously since the mid-19th century. The Nautilus (1976) and the Calatrava (1932) are the lines that drive contemporary collecting; the brand remains family-owned (Stern family) and intentionally low-volume.
