Founded by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Émile in Le Locle; the brand has stayed in the Neuchâtel-Jura town since, and the Le Locle reference is named for it.
Founded 1853 in Le Locle by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Émile. The longest-running Swatch Group brand, and one of the most-democratic Swiss watchmakers. Tissot has produced watches at the sub-$500 entry-tier consistently since the late 19th century. The modern PRX (a 2021 revival of the 1978 integrated-bracelet original) re-established Tissot as the credible entry to mechanical Swiss watches; the Heritage 1948, Le Locle Powermatic 80, and Gentleman Powermatic 80 anchor the brand’s sub-$1K mechanical catalog.
