François-Paul Journe set up his eponymous house in Geneva to be inside the supplier network and finishing tradition that an independent at his scale could not have built from outside it.
Founded 1999 by François-Paul Journe (b. 1957) in Geneva. The most influential single living watchmaker in modern haute horlogerie. Production is intentionally tiny (sub-1,000 watches per year across the entire catalog) and the design vocabulary, off-center small-seconds dial, brass plate movements, the 'Souscription' production model, is distinctive enough that 'a Journe' is its own descriptor.
