Brand history
Founded by Georges Schaeren in Zurich in 1918, headquartered in Le Locle since the Swatch Group consolidation. The brand’s 1934 Multifort and 1944 Ocean Star lines have stayed in continuous production for the better part of a century, with the Caliber 80 (ETA C07.621 base) the contemporary movement family.
Founded 1918 in Zurich by Georges Schaeren, headquartered in Le Locle since the brand’s 1971 absorption into the Swiss watchmaking conglomerate that became Swatch Group. The 1934 Multifort line, patented as a "triple defence" wristwatch (waterproof, antimagnetic, shock-resistant), was one of the first such combinations in serial production and the family is still made today. The brand’s contemporary catalog runs on the ETA-derived Caliber 80 (80-hour reserve, Nivachron hairspring on higher-spec refs) and trades in the sub-$1.5K Swiss-automatic price band alongside Tissot and Hamilton. The Ocean Star (dive), Commander (monocoque dress-sport), and Baroncelli (slim dress) carry the modern family heritage.
