Ocean Star

Mido’s dive-watch line, first appeared in 1944 and revived 2002 as the brand’s 200m dive reference. The Ocean Star 200C (ceramic bezel, Caliber 80) is the contemporary family flagship, sitting in the entry-Swiss-diver price band alongside the Tissot Seastar and Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba.

The Ocean Star 200C is Mido's diver: 200m rating, silicon balance spring (Nivachron), unidirectional bezel. Competitively specified for the entry diver segment.

    The case for it:
    Nivachron silicon spring at this price point adds genuine anti-magnetic and anti-shock properties. The Ocean Star 200C is more technically specified than most divers at the Seiko/Citizen entry price.
    Consider instead if:
    The Ocean Star sits between the Seiko Prospex (better value below) and the Tissot Seastar (ceramic bezel above). It occupies a difficult middle position.
