Founded 1875 in Le Brassus in the Vallée de Joux. Independent-and-family-owned for its entire history. The 1972 Royal Oak (Gérald Genta's design, integrated bracelet, steel case at gold prices) reframed the brand's identity and the modern Royal Oak family — Jumbo, Offshore, Royal Oak Concept — dominates Audemars Piguet's catalog today.
