The Seamaster 300 60th Anniversary is Omega's most serious attempt at a faithful 1957 revival: 39mm, no date, broad arrow hands, and the first Seamaster 300 to carry the Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement. It trades the bloat of the modern Seamaster line for a proportioned case that actually works on smaller wrists, and the 8912 inside is genuinely among the best certified movements available at this price point.
Introduced in 2021 as part of the 1957 Trilogy alongside the Railmaster and Speedmaster "57," the 234.10.39.20.01.001 commemorates the 60th anniversary of the original Seamaster 300 CK 2913. At 39mm it is a few millimeters smaller than the vintage original, a deliberate choice to track the proportions of period photography rather than pure spec-sheet measurement. The aluminum bezel insert and sword lume plots on the dial reproduce the vintage aesthetic closely, though the case finishing is more refined than anything from the 1950s.
The reference ships on a NATO textile strap that references the military-issue watches of that era; the strap is part of the look and not an afterthought. No cyclops, no date window, and no helium escape valve, which keeps the dial unusually clean for a modern Seamaster.
Inspect the aluminum bezel insert carefully: it scratches more easily than ceramic and early wear around the numerals is common on pre-owned examples. The sword-style lume plots are recessed and can accumulate debris at the edges; check under magnification before buying. The screw-down crown is essential to the 300m water resistance rating, so test that it seats and locks smoothly with no wobble.
Case finishing on the lugs shows wear quickly on polished surfaces; expect visible scratches on anything worn regularly without a strap protector. Confirm the textile NATO strap hardware is original Omega, as some sellers substitute aftermarket hardware that degrades the wrist presentation noticeably.
