The Code 11.59 Chronograph 41mm in white gold is AP's answer to the question of what a modern in-house flyback looks like outside the Royal Oak. Caliber 4401 delivers column-wheel control, a vertical clutch, and flyback function in a COSC-certified movement that would be the headline in almost any other watch. The round middle case with its sandwiched octagonal bezel divides collectors, but the movement quality is not in question.
Introduced in 2019 as part of the Code 11.59 family launch, 26393BC.OO.A002CR.01 pairs white gold with a brown crocodile strap and a warm silvered dial. The Caliber 4401 is AP's proprietary flyback chronograph movement, beating at 4 Hz with 70-hour power reserve and a column-wheel, vertical clutch architecture that produces a clean, precise chronograph feel. The reference has remained in production since launch with no major variant changes, which makes it straightforward to track but also means no rare early-production stories to chase.
A skeletonized version of the 11.59 chrono has since appeared, but 26393BC remains the cleaner expression for those who prefer a dial.
Inspect the multi-layered dial carefully under magnification: the sapphire-crystal outer chapter ring shows chips at the edges if the watch has been dropped or poorly stored. The white gold case has a complex geometry with alternating brushed and polished surfaces; any polishing by an unskilled service center will round out the ridges and reduce resale value significantly. Ask for full service records and verify the chronograph was not left running for extended periods, as the vertical clutch can show wear on the coupling surfaces if used heavily without service.
The brown crocodile strap on this reference discolors with sweat and humidity faster than many buyers expect; a replaced strap is not a defect, but an original uncracked strap in good condition adds to value. Confirm the pusher action is crisp: a sluggish flyback reset is the first sign of a column-wheel or reset-hammer issue that runs $1,500 or more to address at AP service.
