History The Submarine Commander collection is the rebirth of the first Tavannes Watch Co. watch sold as waterproof. During the First World War, Tavannes Watch Co. was approached by two English submariners, to consider together the construction of a watch adapted to work on the decks of submarines, submerged by water. This watch had to be waterproof, anti-magnetic, and the balance spring had to be made of a material least sensitive to temperature variations. Its dial had to be easily readable in all situations. It was in 1917, after two years of development, that the first waterproof wristwatch was born, made p
