True to its tradition, Chopard honors Asian traditions. The ancestral art of Japanese Urushi lacquering is used to create the timepiece's dial on the theme of the next Chinese zodiac sign: the rat. The 88 pieces, in 18-carat rose gold, are powered by an ultra-thin caliber made by the Chopard Manufacture workshops: the L.U.C 96.17-L. The dial depicts a golden rat, standing on an ear of corn, a symbol of abundance, facing a persimmon and a bouquet of flowers in the three lucky colors of its sign. The 88 dials were born from the collaboration between Chopard and the Yamada Heiando company. With only 3.3 mm thickness, the caliber achieves 65 hours of reserve
