Laurent Ferrier
Brand history
Founded 2009 by Laurent Ferrier, formerly Patek Philippe’s head of R&D for nearly four decades. The Geneva workshop sits inside the Plan-les-Ouates industrial belt south of the city, the same enclave that hosts Patek and Vacheron.
Founded 2009 in Geneva by Laurent Ferrier (b. 1946), formerly Patek Philippe’s head of R&D for nearly four decades. The brand’s aesthetic is what Ferrier brought from Patek, pebble-shaped Galet case, slender slim dauphine hands, and the kind of restraint that the modern haute-horlogerie market most often dispenses with. The in-house caliber LF270 (manual) and LF229 (micro-rotor) drive the catalog; the Classic Origin is the line’s most-accessible piece, the Sport Auto 40 is the contemporary sport branch, and the Galet Square, the only square-cased Laurent Ferrier, is the line that pushes hardest against the brand’s round-case norm. Annual production is in the low hundreds.
