Czapek
Brand history
Originally founded 1845 in Geneva by François Czapek (Antoine Patek’s former partner) and dormant from 1869 to 2015. The revival is registered in Geneva; assembly and finishing are done in the city, with movement work at the brand’s own workshop in the Plan-les-Ouates area.
Originally founded 1845 in Geneva by François Czapek, the Polish-born watchmaker who co-founded Patek, Czapek & Cie with Antoine Patek in 1839 and went on to operate his own house after the partnership dissolved in 1845. The original Czapek closed in 1869 and the name was dormant for nearly 150 years. Revived 2015 in Geneva by Xavier de Roquemaurel, Harry Guhl, and Sébastien Follonier through a public crowdfunding model (the Czapek 33-week subscription) that bypassed the conventional retailer-distribution structure. The Quai des Bergues line carries the 7-day hand-wound caliber SXH3; the Antarctique line is the integrated-bracelet sport branch with the in-house automatic caliber SXH5. Annual production is small but the brand has grown faster than most of its independent peers since the 2017 launch.
