Isle of Man watches
References in the Grail Atlas catalog made in Isle of Man.
Roger W. Smith operates his atelier on the Isle of Man, continuing the workshop tradition he inherited from George Daniels, the British watchmaker who developed the co-axial escapement. Smith's Series 4 reference in the catalog is made almost entirely by hand in the Isle of Man atelier, including the movement construction. Production is extremely limited (approximately 10–12 watches per year) and the waiting list is multi-year. The Isle of Man workshop is one of the last examples of true independent English watchmaking at the highest horological level.
