Malte

Vacheron’s tonneau-cased complications line, named for the Maltese cross in the brand’s heritage logo. The Malte Tourbillon (30130/000R-9754, cal. 2795) is the family’s reference; the case shape gives Vacheron a tonneau silhouette without breaking from the dress-watch register.

Which ref to buy

The Malte family uses a tonneau case -- VC's signature non-round form. The Malte Tourbillon is the apex: a flying tourbillon in a hand-finished tonneau case with VC's Maltese cross signature. Extremely limited production.

    Consider instead if:
Tourbillons at this price level compete against AP, Patek, and Lange for wallet share. VC tourbillons appreciate but more slowly than equivalents from those three brands. Buyers optimizing for investment should consider those alternatives.
