Brand history

Founded 1997 in Florence by a group of ex-Officine Panerai watchmakers after Panerai’s operations relocated to Switzerland. Through several ownership cycles since; current operations split design and final finishing in Florence with movement-fitting in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The only Italy-based brand currently in the catalog.

Founded 1997 in Florence, Italy, by a group of watchmakers who had worked at the recently-closed Officine Panerai (then Florence-based, before the Richemont acquisition that moved Panerai’s operations to Switzerland). Anonimo’s charter was to preserve a specifically Florentine tradition of tool-watch making after Panerai’s relocation. Sold through several ownership cycles, including a 2013 acquisition by Swiss interests that re-based assembly in La Chaux-de-Fonds while keeping design and final finishing in Florence. The Nautilo dive line and the Militare Vintage pilot/field line are the brand’s most-recognizable references. Anonimo is one of the few mid-luxury watch brands based in Italy and the only such brand currently in the catalog.
