Akrivia
Brand history
Founded by Rexhep Rexhepi in Geneva in 2012. Patek-trained, with the Akrivia workshop in the Geneva old town producing roughly 35 watches per year across the entire catalog. The Chronomètre Contemporain (under the Rexhepi-Akrivia signature) is the brand’s defining reference.
Founded 2012 in Geneva by Rexhep Rexhepi, who trained at Patek Philippe and BNB Concept before opening his own atelier in his early twenties. The brand’s defining piece is the Chronomètre Contemporain, a hand-finished time-only watch built around a movement Rexhepi designed himself, with cases by the legendary Geneva case-maker Jean-Pierre Hagmann (who came out of semi-retirement to work with Akrivia and whose initials appear on the dial). Production is in the low tens per year. The trade reception has been emphatic, collector waitlists for the Chronomètre Contemporain are years long and resale prices run multiples of retail. The buyer’s reality: this is a one-watchmaker shop and the value proposition is the maker’s hand, not the brand machinery. If you want serviceability through a global network and a marketing department to talk to, this is the wrong brand. If you want to own a watch by one of the most-discussed living independents at a point in his career where the watches are still actually made by him, Akrivia is the conversation.
